Description

Founded in Skala Sikamineas on Lesvos by a group of volunteers with the mission to fill gaps in humanitarian support for people seeking refuge.

Lighthouse Relief has over the years run a plethora of protection related projects, varying from emergency response, to social services and integration support, mental health and psychosocial support activities, sport for development, and community engagement projects. As civil society and the humanitarian space as well as the sector-wide funding prospect are deteriorating, we are rethinking our approach for sustainable development of LHR. We aspire to develop social enterprise, climate action, and homelessness reduction projects to foster resilience while empowering communities.

Competence and Expertise Offered

LHR has extensive expertise in protection activities, emergency response, mental health and psychosocial support, and community integration initiatives for displaced populations. We excel in sports for development, volunteer engagement, and community-driven support, ensuring impactful humanitarian aid. Our team has a proven track record in refugee advocacy, effective partnership building with local stakeholders, and adapting programs to evolving needs with a refugee-led approach.

Expertise sought

We seek partners with expertise in social enterprise, climate resilience, housing solutions, and innovative community-led initiatives. We are particularly interested in collaborating with organizations that have experience in advocacy, policy engagement, and MHPSS, especially those using sports and creative methods to foster mental health and community empowerment.
