Description
The Athletic Club of Kastoria was founded in 1980 with the primary goal of attracting young children to sports, specifically in basketball.
Due to the location of the area, we have set as our primary goals:
a) to transmit sportsmanship, values and principles to an area far away from urban centers.
b) tο give young people a reason to stay focused and a place to go after school.
As possible project ideas, we would like to cooperate with other sport clubs for:
1) to exchange training and coaching practices.
2) to include activities related to healthy eating, social exclusion, and bullying.
3) volunteering and community service.
4) environmental awareness actions.
Competence and Expertise Offered
As a sports club that aims to integrate young athletes, we have developed a strong network of cooperation with parents, social organizations, other sports clubs, as well as the local government authorities of our region.
We are a strong team, looking for opportunities, willing to work, to organise and build a project always with the best interests of the children in our association in mind.
There is previous experience from our participation in European programs.
Expertise sought
We are seeking expertise for our club in an underprivileged, remote small-town. We want to give to our children of the academies the opportunity to discover new places and different cultures. We want them to meet and communicate with children from other countries.To interact with them in both sporting and social fields.
We want them to gain important life experiences that they won’t be able to have under other circumstances and that will serve as a guide and milestone for their entire lives.
