Description
DECO is a Portuguese consumer protection association. We defend consumer rights and promote informed and sustainable choices.
Our work covers consumer rights, financial and digital literacy, energy efficiency, sustainable consumption and social inclusion. We inform and advise consumers, deliver education and training, and advocate for policies that protect their interests. Project ideas include tackling energy poverty, supporting circular consumption, improving digital consumer protection and strengthening young people’s consumer skills, with particular attention to vulnerable groups.
Competence and Expertise Offered
We offer expertise in consumer rights, legal and financial guidance, education, awareness campaigns and stakeholder engagement. We can contribute to identifying consumer needs, designing and piloting solutions with consumers in Portugal, developing training materials, disseminating results and formulating policy recommendations. Our local partnerships support outreach to consumers, schools and municipalities.
Expertise sought
We seek partners and coordinators to develop EU-funded projects, including universities, research centres, municipalities, NGOs and technology providers. We welcome expertise in applied research, digital solutions, sustainability, social innovation and impact evaluation, alongside experience in proposal development and project coordination. We aim to build partnerships that involve consumers in designing and testing practical solutions, particularly for vulnerable groups.
